The concept of representative democracy only serves the people that are respresented as long as there is representation. In the U.S. we are no longer represented by the "politicians" who govern us. They are bought and paid for by multi national corporations and those are the interests which they represent. (who owns U.S.)

In a direct democracy, the public participates directly in government. In the case of a representitive democracy that no longer represents The People from which the gov'ments powers are derived then a move toward taking that power back would be a move toward a Direct Democracy....

That's what's happening in our streets.

To not peacefully protest that which is disagreeable to you because of the fear of being beaten, gassed and jailed by the police... Is all the more reason to protest.

To get beaten, gassed & jailed for your beliefs and then Not Vote is stupid.
