Ok, here is what someone in Brazil is thinking (translated by me):
"THANK YOU PRESIDENT BUSH (Paulo Coelho to "Folha de Sao Paulo" newspaper)
Thank you, great leader George W. Bush.
Thank you for showing us all the danger Saddam Hussein represents.
Maybe many of us had forgotten that he used chemical weapons against his own people, against the curds, against the Iranians.
Hussein is a bloody dictator, one of the nowadays' most clear expression of evil.
Besides, this is not the only reason why I'm thanking you.
In the first two months of 2003, you were able to show a lot of important things to the world, the reason why you deserve my gratitude.
So, remembering a poem I learnt in my childhood, I want to say thank you.
Thank you for showing everybody that the Turkish people and its Parliament are not for sale, not even by 26 billion dollars.
Thank you for revealing to the world the gigantic abyss between the governments' decisions and the people's desires. For making clear that José María Aznar and Tony Blair don't give a penny and don't have minimum respect for the votes they earn. Aznar is able to ignore that 90% of Spanish people are against the war, and Blair doesn't care about the England's largest public demonstration in 30 years.
Thank you because your perseverance forced Blair to go to the Parliament with a false document, written by a student ten years ago, showing this as "powerful proof gathered by the British Secret Service".
Thank you for making Colin Powell expose himself to ridicule, showing to the UN Security Council some photos contested just a week after by Hans Blix, the inspector in charge for the Iraq disarmament.
Thank you because you made the French minister Mr. Dominique de Villepin and his speech against the war applauded in open session, an honor that only happened once at UN, in a Nelson Mandela speech.
Thank you in your efforts for the war because, for the first time, the Arab nations, always divided, were unanimous to say no to an invasion, in a meeting at Cairo.
Thank you because, in your rhetoric saying that "UN has a chance to show its relevance", even some reluctant nations manifested against the attack.
Thank you because your foreign policy made Jack Straw declare, even in the 21th century, that "a war can have moral justifications" and lose all his credibility.
Thank you for trying to break apart an Europe that fights for unification; this alert will not be ignored.
Thank you for making what few could make in this century: unify millions of people, in every continent, fighting for the same idea, even though this idea is the opposite of yours.
Thank you for making us feel again that, even if our words can't be heard, they at least are spoken, and it will give us strength for the future.
Thank you for ignoring us, for keeping apart all of those who stand some attitude against your decision, because to the excluded belong the future of the Earth.
Thank you because without you we would never know our power of mobilization. Maybe it doesn't worth anything today, but will be useful tomorrow.
Now that the war drums seem to sound so irreversible, I want to make mine some ancient European king's words: "May your morning be beautiful, may the sun shine over your soldiers' shields, because in the afternoon I will defeat you".
Thank you for letting all of us, an anonimous army walking down the streets trying to stop an already started process, earn the knowledge about what's impotence, learning how to deal with it and transform it.
So, enjoy your morning, and what it still can bring you of glory.
Thank you because you didn't hear us and not took us seriously. So be aware that we heard you and we'll not forget your words.
Thank you, great leader George W. Bush.
Thank you very much."
