I would like to make an apology to everyone. Someone has been using my name to post such remarks as "I hate troops" and that "I hope all the troops die." This couldn't be further from the truth. I love our troops and I want to bring them all home safe and alive. I do not wish physical violence on anyone. I believe in non-violent civil disobedience and I believe in making a world without war.
I guess because I have outed myself by signing my name to my post "I Was Arrested for Peace" someone who disagrees with my point of view and practice of non-violent civil disobedience has decided to harrass me and try to scare me. I went public with my story because I did not want to be anomynous- I find that the posts where people leave their names and emails to be much more honest and I wanted those who were interested in civil disobedience to be able to contact me. I would rather be an open book then live in fear of being found out.
I hope this clears things up.
Peace,
Amanda
The KOBE Organization, based in California, is famous for posting such material in the names of their targets. You become a target by posting anti-Bush material online. Their website is at:
http://www.kobehq.com
Some believe that they are part of a COINTELPRO operation. The best way to handle them is to ignore them. Don't post in your own name any more.
Yeah, well the cats out of the bag so...
By the way, I never posted any anti-Bush statements. My statements have all been about peace, non-violence and civil disobedience.
"I never posted any anti-Bush statements. My statements have all been about peace, non-violence..."
Err, Amanda, I think the above quote is self contradictary....
I made no direct attacks against Bush.
To say that to fight for peace and protest against war is an attack on Bush is like saying that to protest is anti-American. Nothing could be further from the truth. I believe that protesting is one of the most American things you can do. And while I disagree with Bush's policies I made no attack on his person. But if disagreement with policies is an attack then I guess i am guilty as charged.
By the way I understand why someone would say that my protest is anti-Bush (I understand thier reasoning) but that is not my platform.
I hope I sufficiently clarified that.
The Brown Shirts are absolutely incapable of accepting that someone could either have a point of view different than their own and still be a Patriot and that they could be wrong about their Glorious Fuhrer.
Standing up for what is right, and in the best interests of this country and humanity is more patriotic than anything the Brown Shirt Jingoists have ever done. Something really worth doing is rarely easy. However, you have the advantage in that you can be geuinely proud of what you do. In the end the Brown Shirts know what they are doing is wrong and that is why they are so vitriolic - they are too cowardly to confront the truth.
"Each man must for himself alone decide what is right and what is wrong, which course is patriotic and which isn’t. You cannot shirk this and be a man. To decide against your conviction is to be an unqualified and inexcusable traitor, both to yourself and to your country, let men label you as they may." - Mark Twain
“True patriotism hates injustice in its own land more than anywhere else.” - Clarence Darrow
