so far the pro-war numbers are winning
Yes. This is an indication of the abject failure of the anti-war protests. That even on a progressive-friendly site like msn a majority of people so closely associate protests with anti-Americanism makes it all the more apparent that you anti-war protesters have been hijacked by irrelevant socialist and anti-Semitic causes. I believe that, in your heart, you do not hate America. But when a plurality of signs are pictures of Bush with a Hitler moustache I begin to wonder.
MSN "progressive-friendly"? Watch MSNBC if you don't throw up first. It's no different from FoxNews.
Why do they need a poll for that. Of course these anti-war protests are un-American. That's a given. Many of these dorks are advocating sedition and sound like Amy Goodman or another Saddam supporter.
MSNBC is a leftist TV outlet. They're the dorks that gave air time to Phil Donahue. They're the dorks who give air time to Michael Kinsley. In other words, they're dorks.
MSNBC is a leftist news source? You know you really ought to learn some background facts before you try to open the right side of your mouth. NBC (and hence MSNBC) is wholly owned by General Electric (GE), the largest military contractor in the world, the maker of jet engines and nuclear weapons. Hmmm, yes I'm sure their media channel is going to be supporting the anti-war cause for sure. (insert sound of my head banging against a wall in frustration from trying to educate misinformed warmongers.)
MSNBC is a network whose big star is the obstreperous progressive Chris Matthews. A network whose newsman, Brian Williams, didn't identify James Traficant as a Democrat after the bribery charges broke. A network that, after it hired Alan Keyes, wouldn't even support him in its promotional ads. "We don't even agree with what he has to say," said their radio and television spots, "but we want to be there when he says it." Now, who but a left-leaning news network would introduce a new talent in such a reluctant way? Yes, even MSNBC acknowledges its progressive tilt; that's why they tried Keyes, and that's why they just fired Donahue and hired Savage. In the face of falling ratings, they're trying to better represent conservative voices. As Donahue opined, they're trying to out-fox FOX. But the mainstays, who besides Donahue have remained, are still as progressive as ever.
I do not buy the claim that corporate executives personally puppet newsrooms. Just look at KFI 640: a channel saturated with conservative voices, and yet the management, says liberal Johnny Wendell, is progressive. The fact is that anchors, newsmen and hosts hold the far greater influence.
Chris Matthew is a middle-of-the-road opportunist. Like Fox, MSNBC is but a mouthpiece for the government war propaganda. There is no journalism
on TV these days. While Fox is proud to have the treasonous bunch (William Kristol, Richard Perle, etc.) as their "analysts", MSNBC has wannabe hacks who are even more despicable. The Buchanan/Press show is the only thing worth watching on MSNBC, but alas, it's been preempted by this preemptive war.
