Something amiss with Portland Indymedia

by Clarion Call Saturday, Mar. 15, 2003 at 6:20 PM

Certain types of messages are being blocked on the Portland Indymedia site. It appears that the word Vatican might be the key.

Why is the Java code for Indymedia linked to the Maitreya project? What is the truth about these people?

Visit this URL.

Just something to be aware of...

A followup question...

by Me Again, Saturday, Mar. 15, 2003 at 6:25 PM

The other possiblity is they are blocking my IP address which raises another question. This didn't occur until I posted information exposing the Vatican...

Don't be fooled...

nothing diff

by Jock man Saturday, Mar. 15, 2003 at 7:17 PM

Nothing different that SF indymedia block all posts that seem the tad bit to the right or republican side.

The only way to not have your post on sf-indymedia not "hidden" is to be anti-goverment or for a protest in the streets.

SF INDYMEDIA A PARODY

by joker Saturday, Mar. 15, 2003 at 7:42 PM

SF INDYMEDIA A PARODY

SF-IndyMedia encourages the exploitation of the working and street class that have no clue about diversity and cooperation.

They selectively cover local events and attempt to create their own.

Provide France's view on audio, video, and print stories of the above on the internet for the brain washing of the masses.

SF-IndyMedia facilitates the underground ANTI-Government. networking and coordination for the local militia.

SF-IndyMedia conducts surveillance of local and federal law enforcement and regular posts pictures of them so members know who to avoid while conducting subversive activity.

Provides slogans for the mentally challenged to write on their signs.

They provide links only to the choosen few.

SF-IndyMedia seeks out and causes events for coverage underscoring the global nature of people's struggles for social, economic, and environmental justice by such actions as shutting down the local economy.

SF-IndyMedia regularly conspires to shutdown any businesses that is doing well in the SF city and replace it with one that pays protection money to them.

To offer community classes and militant protesting training and skills to harass other using the internet and media skills.

To encourage, facilitate, and support the creation of independent businesses beholding only to SF-IndyMedia and not a board of directors...

different strokes for diferent folks

LA indymedia has absolutely no censorship and an editorial policy that isn't always enforced because there's too much flow, so we even get right-wing assholes posting crap about how they like to suck the cock of their dog -- posted five or six times in the names of other authors

SF Indymedia and Portland has rightfully gone after the extreme examples like doggie posts, and sometimes they go too far in their reaction to cut stuff. But that's just the world we live in. I like all three IMCs. If I want to read stuff from freepers and the like, I come over here. But the IMC mission was never about creating a network and infrastructure to be abused by the right-wing and the right-wing has gazillion means of expressing itself while the left doesn't. So I really don't get to bent out of shape about the "censorship" calls. It's not cool. It's not ideal. But there are IMCs like LA IMC where nearly anything goes so it's not like censorship is network-wide

Wrong target guys

by Me Again Sunday, Mar. 16, 2003 at 2:06 AM

Well you sure got the right-wing label wrong on this one. Does someone have to be right wing to want people to focus on the true cause and not be led around by a smoke screen. Don't you think the Bush crowd expected you guys to focus on them just like you are currently doing? Wonder what they are really trying to hide? Before you know it, it'll be too late and you'll wonder how the hell "they" managed to pull the wool over your eyes.

I want you to know that I'm pretty far to the left wing guys, I just happen to be a crack researcher and know of what I speak. The key piece of information about the Portland site that YOU missed is that a church is involved in its Admin and they seem to be censuring anything that doesn't sit well with the Christian party line. How's that for freedom...
