military in fiscal year 2003, than all the rest of the

countries on Earth combined. Current expenditures are

437 billion and our past obligations are 339 billion,

this equals 776 billion. 46% of our Taxes go to the

Quibbles

by Diogenes Tuesday, Mar. 11, 2003 at 1:01 AM

I have just 2 Quibbles with this test:

A. The Kurds killed in Halbaja were killed when they were caught in a crossfire between Iranian and Iraqi Army Gas attacks against each other.

B. The Army's estimate of 10,000 civilian casualties is a conservative estimate. U.N. Estimates put it at 200,000 with a Million refugees.

I Get The Point, but...

by Weather man Tuesday, Mar. 11, 2003 at 1:22 AM

Okay, I understand the need to use facts when attempting to make a point, but sometimes the facts one supplies will be used against them. When facts are vaguely presented and simple conclusions are drawn they seem, well, like an absolute. However...,

Ex: Who has three hundred cheese melts? Chuckee Cheze or the Hambugger?

a) chuckee

where does cheese come from?

a) cows

summary: cows are to blame for the cheese melts that chuck made!

circular reasoning will never work.

ps. I thought the US had 1/3 of the world wealth not 50%.

Is your friend certain about his facts?

just making a point.

(pigs in space)

Oh, Really?

by Diogenes Tuesday, Mar. 11, 2003 at 1:26 AM

The biggest lie and misrepresentation in your post was "just making a point".

That all depends on "how you define making a point".

Truth is what you are trying to do is throw doubt upon a damaging, to your side, humor piece by erecting a Straw Man and then tearing him down.

Bullshit!

do I know enuff to justify...

http://www.qmfound.com/14th_Quartermaster_Detachment.htm

At 8:40 pm (12:40 pm EST) on February 25, 1991, parts of an Iraqi SCUD missile destroyed the barracks housing members of the 14th Quartermaster Detachment. In the single, most devastating attack on U.S. forces during that war, 29 soldiers died and 99 were wounded.

Uncle-ho-chi Seatle needs to feed you better propaganda your "facts" are a joke.

And don't forget

The captured piolet who beat himself up for TV.

This totally invalidates all posted data, of course.

I am amused

by Diogenes Tuesday, Mar. 11, 2003 at 4:28 AM

Anytime the Shills take immediate action to discredit something means that it is effective at making a point.

Even if the Author of the original piece missed a couple of points the fact alone that the Shills are falling all over themselves to find a point of attack means that it has them a little bit disturbed.

That being the case, as evidenced by their rapid attack, I am amused at discomfiting them a bit.

Can You Peel Banana's With Your Feet Too?

by Diogenes Tuesday, Mar. 11, 2003 at 5:59 AM

Given the strength of your rebuttal the Defense Rests.

Oh, I forgot nobody "Writes" term-papers anymore

by MadMaxim Tuesday, Mar. 11, 2003 at 6:19 AM

See, that's what you get when student's buy their term papers off the internet instead of writing them themselves. (well who's got time to "Study" - gotta go play activist, after all)

You never learn to properly research and support your point of view.

And so, as we see above, you just make it up as you go along and pull numbers out of the south end of your digestive tract.

How about I lift my right leg and spread my legs a little more...

...but I draw the line on wearin a tin foil hat...that's just too kinky...

Mad Maxim

by Weather man Wednesday, Mar. 12, 2003 at 5:51 PM

Writing term papers, do you mean like the Brit’s intelligence dossier?

What was it, six or nine out of twelve pages plagiarized?

Please Read the Piece

by Diogenes Wednesday, Mar. 12, 2003 at 5:54 PM

This one is driving the Trolls nutty so I would suggest that makes it a must read.

Straw Argument, Diogenes

by Weather man Wednesday, Mar. 12, 2003 at 6:01 PM

An example of circular reasoning is not a straw argument.

The "IQ" test employed circular reasoning.

Your decision to argue the definition of "point" rather than address the criticism is an example of a straw argument.
