Happy Alamo Day!
http://www.thealamo.org/
I am sure that like me, all here at indymedia are celebrating the 163rd anniversary of the Battle of the Alamo. What an inspiring story of courage in the face of overwhelming opposition, of the defense of liberty in the face of absolutism.
I'm getting misty eyed.
Happy Alamo Day, everyone!
Forget the Alamo. Yankee squatters, usurpers, thieves on Mexican land. The "brave" only died there because the Alamo didn't have a backdoor. They found Davey Crockett hiding under a bed.
Alamo just part of typical U.S. history of violent theft of other people's land and resources. Sound familiar? Say NO to Iraq War: STOP Texas expansionism!
-My ancestors didn't see the Statue of Liberty when they came to US because they didn't come to the United States; the United States came to us.
-brown and proud of it here in New Mexico, roots all the way back to 1600's here, amigo.
...and he lives in Texas.
If there are a lot of SIMPLEton Posts, there are usually few if any BA posts in the same time frame and vice versa.
They just work in staggered shifts.
Better keep you license handy Fido...the dog catcher is out...
It's funny. When BA and I were posting at roughly the same time, the Lefties said it was evidence that we were the same person.
Now that BA and I post at different times (or has BA been censored? I haven't seen his name in a while) the Lefties say it is evidence that we are the same person.
It's funny.
And Iconoclash, you of all people should be celebrating Alamo Day. It's the one fight your team won.
And don't be silly about Davy Crockett. Historians differ as to where he was killed, including some who say he was captured and then executed by the charming Santa Anna. While his exact location of death is in question, his history of personal bravery is not. To make unfounded accusations of cowardice is silly.
The Massacre at the Alamo inspired the Texan's to the point of ROUTING Santa Ana. It was not exactly a bright move on his part. When you don't leave any survivors the Resistance has no reason to negotiate or surrender.
As for our friend with his earlier post - every hear of Conquistadores Amigo? The Spanish, represented by Santa Ana and his corrupt minions, were savage, brutal, bloodthirsty, buccaneers interested only in Gold and Power. If the Mexican government had not been so corrupt the Texans would probably not have revolted.
Fido and BushBlower are not the same person...
....BushBlower is a much bigger douchebag...
...sorry Fido, that's as tame as it gets...
