Something we need to remember, even though our Glorious Leaders don't, is that the supply of oil is ultimately finite, as is the supply of peoples who can be conquered and robbed.

While the rest of the world prepares to adapt to an era where fossil fuels are increasingly scarce and expensive, shall we, like a junkie breaking into a house to steal what he needs to support his habit, continue to pacify ourselves with hits stolen from our neighbors, until there's no choice but the ugliness of a cold-turkey withdrawal?

That seems to be what the current crop of neo-con pushers has in mind.
