And God looked down ...

by xxx Friday, Feb. 28, 2003 at 8:24 AM

Heavenly aversion therapy?

And God looked down upon his people, and he saw that they were a nasty, greedy, self-centered, controlling, warlike, deceitful, arrogant, pusilanimous, mendacious, rotten bunch of brainless money-grubbing spoiled brats who didn't give a shit for anyone but themselves or for anything but their own comfort. And this blight upon his creation greatly displeased him, and he was sorely vexed. And so it came to pass that to punish them he sent the Bush administration to rule over the world, and to impose these debased values of humankind one hundred-fold upon the people, that they would from these excesses learn the error of their ways and forever renounce them, and thereafter cast out the Bush devils and follow only the Golden Rule.

God? What God?

For as long as recorded history has existed there has been one continueous arguement. The sovereign knowledge of what god wants us to do, the punishments for disobedience and the supposed meaning to life through his/she/its lessons, as contained in its book(s), which was written by men who were convienced they had direct communication with the supposed creator of life. Thomas Paine (who drafted for Jefferson the U.S. bill of rights which included emancipation of the slaves, which Jefferson removed) knew better 200 years ago, so read his "Age of reason Part 1& 2). These arguements always result in persecution, segregation and war. These deeds are always done in the name of the supreme being( what ever the title). Yet not one person in thousands of years has ever brought forth any undeniable fact of the supreme beings existence let alone what it wants from us and its rights to tell us what to do, think and act. In the last 150 yrs science has provided unquestionable evidence that we(life forms on Earth) did not just appear but that we actually EVOLVED. Thats right folks EVOLUTION is now fact. Throughout the world it is taught in all levels of educational institutions as FACT and yes they can back it up with FACTS. If you can't rap your heads around this FACT then your IQ(intelligence quotient) and EQ(Emotional quotient or Emotional intelligence) needs a boost(which is possible through education, learn to read and don't turn books away because you don't like the perspective they may just challenge you and get you to think outside your own subconscience tunnel vision). So lets all EVOLVE and drop the religious crap. Don't get tied up in the twists of words, fear and guilt that religious prolificators use to dominate and restrain our potential in what ever areas we choose to persue. Christopher Marlowe (English playwriter) once said "I count religion as a childish toy and there is no sin but ignorance." Apply this to world leaders such as Bush, Blair, Hussien and Bin Laden. Ask yourself what is the ideology and educational background of these fools? And where do they profit from there stance, actions and inactions on particular issues? Lets face it they are not representing our needs and they have not learnt the lessons of the past. John Lennon outlined in his song "imagine" what is required for peace, one being "And no religion too." Its about time we put this to action. Boycott religions on whole. Do not take part in any religious event, yes this includes christmas and easter (research and discover that these events where originally pagan ceremonies which christianity absorbed and claimed as their own in order to gain popularity) why do you need a special day to give gifts? Educate yourself to discover the origins and evolution of religions so when confronted by fundamentalists you are armed with intellect that they are not aware of which shows their ignorance. Learn to undo the damage that years of social and religious indoctrination has placed on your mind. Lobby politicians to remove all religious material from all government places and material, its your constitutional right (seperation of church and state), yet it is all over the money and in politicians speeches, even founding for faith based organisations. This shit is messed up. America get your shit together. Drop the stupid, right wing, corporate, christian fundamentalist, righteous bullshit and stop the arrogance that you think you run the world because if you haven't noticed the world doesn't give a shit about you any more. What you gave you are getting back in return with interest. Welcome to the revolution, join the world revolving and evolving before we kick you off. All you got to do is open your mind and your ass will follow.

Changed My Mind

Actually, I ordained that George Bush should be President so that he could smite all the unbelievers.

What's wrong with you people? Muslims blowing up towers full of people and screaming 'Allah akbar' not obvious enough for you? Geez.

Another member of the Church of Darwin Huh?

by Diogenes Saturday, Mar. 01, 2003 at 7:14 AM

Evolution is NOT a proven theory. It is just that a theory designed to provide a description for a set of facts. However, it is a key principle of Scientific thought that if any one fact cannot be explained by the theory then the theory must be revised or thrown out entirely and a new one designed which accurately describes ALL of the observed data.

So, what does the foregoing lead up to? Darwinian evolution by Natural Selection does not accurately describe all of the observed facts.

Specifically Darwin himself admitted that he had no none or theorized mechanism for the kindling of life when that first living entity came into being.

As well the Darwinian model can be used to account for adaptation within a species but no instance, either in the Fossil Record, or in a controlled Laboratory Environment has ever shown the "evolution" of one species into another. What that means is that the theory is toast. A contrary fact exists.

Going further there is nothing in the Darwinian model which would account for the evolution of a generalized cell into a cell performing only one specific function.

As to the existence of a causal agency, whether you choose to call that agency God, or as in the case of Einstein "the first cause" all we know about the universe in which we live militates against a non-causal creation event i.e., dirt comes to life just spontaneously. Therefore it is reasonable to infer the existence of a causal agency i.e., God.

Read "Darwin's Black Box" for more thorough decontruction of the Darwinian Mythology.

dumb ass christians or any other religious group claiming gods views

Darwin put the theory out to the world. Other lesser known great minds have proven it as fact (Richard Hawkins, Chris Daniels and a world of others). Yet you still choose to ignore due to your emotional links. You have no proof. The bible is not proof it only proves that people can write and write a prevented tone of history to distort their own reality because they are afraid of the unknown. I noticed that you were afraid to even use your real names and provide an Email address. I guess this is the culture of fear you Americans are so used to. I am an extremely well educated Australian who can watch the world with a free mind and not dictated to believe what you dumb asses are preached everyday. Your President stole the election and you fools just sit there and accept it, how pathetic. All empires fall and yours is the on the way down. Your desire for wealth power and greed has backfired. Read your Thomas Paine, Read Your Michael Moore, Read your Mark Lane this is your only hope.

I suggest you read the Bible. Afterall it was written by the Creator himself.

I believe not

by Sheepdog Sunday, Mar. 02, 2003 at 2:29 PM

It was written by man.

Also it was then revised in the forth century

with a mind to establish religious authority.

Your world

Is that how you justify your racist views, Sheepdog? Because there is not God you are free to hate blacks?

Scott, wake up. Go to bible school. The bible was written by man. Do a little research and let me know how much of the bible was actually written by people that even knew Jesus.

As for "The Creator". . . . . .does the word enigmatic mean anything to you? God is not a fact.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, who suddenly found an accurate translator for the bible?

religion is the root of the present evil

by humanist Wednesday, Jul. 13, 2005 at 6:26 PM

if i had a time machine i would go back and grab moses and jesus (if he existed) as kids and take them far from the middle east. i would drop them somewhere where they would be adopted and cared for but away from the mental cancer of bronze age and late antiquity's middle eastern religious beliefs. we might then have new problems in our time, but at least there would be none of the mind-destroying modern monotheistic religions.
