New Rally Chant

by Jay Lowe Friday, Feb. 14, 2003 at 10:05 PM

Hey Hey! Ho Ho! Saddam Hussein has got to go!

Yes, wouldn't it be wonderful if the world was rid of this man?

Of course the Left wants nothing to do with that effort, and will do whatever it can to oppose this effort. The closest thing I've seen to a Leftists' plan to get rid of him is to wait until he dies of natural causes!!

Not surprising, from a group who views the slaughter of political prisoners as justifiable in the name of human rights!

Saddam Hussein

by Julia Stein Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003 at 2:10 AM

Actually, many leftists would love to see Saddam Hussein go, peacefully.

60% of the population of Iraq are Shite Muslim who have strong movement of mullahs based in Iran who want to establish a Islamic fundementalist regime in Iraq like Iran's (see the current issue of the New Yorker for a long report on these Iraqi Shite mullahs). The U.S. is surely not going to let the Shiite Muslims establish a fundementalist regime, so the U.S. will be forced to install a puppet dictator. The U.S. policy of regime change will only result in another dictator being installed in Iraq. By the way, during the Gulf War President Bush asked the Iraqi people to rebel against Saddam Hussein and when the Shite Muslim did, he didn't support them and let Hussein's men put down the rebellion. Bush didn't support the Shite Muslim rebels because he was afraid if they get in power they'll ally themselves with Iran. Get real. If you want to blame somebody for Hussein being there, blame the elder Bush. The last thing President s Bushes want is democracy in Iraq. They didn't want it in 1990 and they don't want it now. What leftists really dislike is people who cloak their desires for installing dictators with lies about "democracy."

Since Saddam

by Jay Lowe Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003 at 3:16 AM

Will obviously not go peacefully, the world is left with two options: War or appeasement.

The Left, as always, choses to accomodate a murderous dictator.

Oh, Really?

by Diogenes Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003 at 3:44 AM

Is this the same Saddam armed by the Reagan/Bush and Bush administrations?

Is this the same Saddam that Reichsmarshall Rumsfeld was photographed shaking hands with?

Is this the same Saddam that Halliburton, under Cheney, sold 23.8 Million dollars worth of Oilfield equipment?

Is this the same Saddam who purchased Anthrax, Botulinim, and Bubonic Plague Cultures FROM AMERICAN TYPE CULTURE CORPORATION with Reagan's and then Bush I's blessings?

Is this the sme Saddam that controls about 30% of the world's known reserves of Oil and Natural Gas?

Is this the same Iraq that estimates by the U.N. suggest might sustain as many as 500,000 to One Million civilian casualties as a result of a U.S. Invasion?

Is this the same Iraq in which U.S. and U.K. forces have mercilessly bombed the civilian infrastructure of, resulting in about 500,000 dead kids, in direct contravention of the Geneva Convention?

Have you ever considered that there may be a solution short of mass murder?

Stupendous ignorance.

"The Left, as always, choses to accomodate a murderous dictator." !!!!!!!!!!!

Did the left support the murder of 500,000 to 1,000,000 Indonesians by its friend Suharto in 1966 or was it the Reagan administration with Suharto's dear friend Henry Kissinger giving an agreeable wink and increasing military aid for that bunch of thugs?

Who supplied the forces of murder and destruction of democracy in Chile, Guatamala, El Salvador, the former Congo, Timor, Iran, Iraq etc etc? The left?!!!!!
