you try to portray the man as stupid, the more out of touch you seem with the rest of America.
So, go on with your photoshop jokes.
With whom? The twenty-odd percent minority of potential voters who actually voted for the guy? Or maybe the minority of ACTUAL voters who voted for him?
By the way - is this real or a photoshop deal? Either way, it's funny as hell.
It's funny as hell. We all need it.
But I would also suggest that with each joke, we also remind ourselves that he's not stupid. He's ignorant of the common people, of what most Americans seek and desire. But ignorance is not stupidity, nor is not having the ability to string sentences together indicative of one being stupid (Bush is dyslexic, by most informed accounts).
No folks, he's a ruthless political operative, and quite smart in what he does best -- ruthless politics. And he's backed-up by a team of geniuses.
One can easily argue that the interests he represents select self effacing and seemingly dumb politicians like Bush on purpose. Reagan was another fantastic example. Why critics spend much of their valuable energy paying attention to how stupid their target seems to be, others come through the back door and steal your house blind.
yep, no doubt. he is not stupid. the humor I find in the jokes about him is more a dark humor about how smart I know he actually is. trying to find humor in a very humorless situation. his intelligence is cunning and ruthless, and incredibly destructive. in some way I guess it helps a little to see/hear him being "stupid" and have a little laugh, but it's a laugh tinged with something much darker than humor.
