Activists in Columbia, MO are planning a Day of Non-Participation to occur the day after the war breaks out.
We are encouraging workers to skip work, students to skip class, professors to cancel classes, businesses to shut down, consumers to not shop...
It would be great if this were a nationwide action!
There are tons of actions that can be done alongside the non-participation...demonstrations...marches...you could do a reverse strike and serve Food Not Bombs all day or some other sort of proactive community service thingy...if your local representative/senator voted for the war do a sit-in in her/his office...whatever you want
feel free to email me with thoughts or to coordinate

Did you post this on the global IMC site? This is a great idea that should definitely happen. If we could actually convince people all over the country to get in on it, that would really make a statement.
I live in NYC, and to have 9 million people stop their daily routines....
Cool.
You should contact Critical Moment about this, too.
I was just talking about this same idea with my friends last week. We thought it would be cool if everyone planted a tree that day ... but whatever positive thing someone wanted to do would be cool! We were gonna call it "National Walk-Out Day" and schedule a day to do it, but I like the idea of doing it the day after (if/when) we strike an attack -- still hoping not though ...
Let's start passing the idea around!!!!!!
Ok, I remember wrong ... We called it
"The Great American Walk-Out"
(I like that better) ... ;)
