Hi everyone:

We recently send our API program poposals to KPFK interm program coordinator Ester for review and hope we can get response from her soon, so far we had proposed three radio specials:

1) Modern Heroes - Modern Slaves

2) Los Angeles Sweatshops: Garment Workers fight for justice...

3) Asian hip-hop music specials

At last meeting, we also draft mision statements for the API collective.

Currently, we are building a computer lab which will include a audio editing facility for KPFK programming and I hope more people can come to help to uild the studio and the raido productions.

The agnenda for the next meeting as follows:

1) Mission Statements

2) Updates on proposed API radio programs

3) Radio production studio at Arts in Action

4) radio production training

5) budget and funding

**Who is KPFK API Collective?

After the Pacifica Settlement and board meetings in Loa Angeles last March, then interm KPFK general manager Steven Starr actively invite former KPFK producers, and borrow KPFA-Berkeley programming model to creat a KPFK program council--which differenet programmming collectives from different LA communities who will involve in future KPFK programming decisios. Steven invite several former Asian producers as well as local Asian artists and community organizers to form KPFK Asian Pacific Islander programming collective to organize future API programming in KPFK.
