Sarah the one who had no activist experience, who had no idea what was going to happen at Mayday because the dumb ass SKAA organizers were authoritarian and dicated what they wanted to do and didn't let anyone know, and let others walk into a confrontational police trap, Sarah was a street medic and she is the only one who stood up for what she believed and took this case to trial, and she is the only one that had any guts the rest of these thugs, and that's what I will call them because that's what they are are stupid kids who are running around just annoyed and mad and will never get anywhere and will end up just like their yuppy mom and dad eventually. Sarah was 100% comitted to going to trial and fighting these bogus uptheass charges since day one. She never backed out nor hesitated. When the prosecuter and judge decided to increase the penalty to 3 years maximum after 9-11, she still stayed comitted to going to trial while many others imediatly pleaded out. Mayday 01' was the first time being arrested for many people, including myself. At first tons of people were going to take their cases to trial, but then it turned only into a small handfull of about 4 people. I was one of those people but at the last minute had to plead because of another federal case. Sarah still hung in there and was arrested right there in the court room. Now she is serving a 6 month sentence in LA twin towers jail. For everyone reading this, just remember it could have been YOU, arrested in the court room, and sentenced to 6 months in LA county. Wouldn't YOU want people - especially those who were arrested with you - to have your back? An injury to one is an injury to all. That's the way we need to treat the situation, because THAT IS the situation. Sarah needs our imediate support and she needs it now.

I suggest we setup a benefit show of some kind to raise awareness on this issue, and to help her financially with the 1000$ fine she was given.

The lack of solidarity that was given to Sarah and other activist involved with mayday 2001 is fucked up, but the blame shouldn't be held against all LB people. The Long Beach Infoshop is now ran by a new collective with a new group of people, majority being colored. Hopefully their shit can get together to actually start creating positive change, and support Sarah(as well as Rukus and other political prisoners.) Hopefully we can learn from the past mistakes created in the movement and build on the knowledge we gain.

I wish I could've been aware of the mayday situation before...so that I could've been involved in helping out people like Sarah. I will try to support her and help in raising the fine money. Peace

What the demonstrators and others caught up in this state repression, espicially those who were prosecuted and aqquited, should get together, find a good attorney or group of attorneys willing to represent them pro-bono and SUE Long Beach class action! This should be a mega-lawsuit that would send the city of Long Beach into bankruptcy. Since MONEY is all that matters to these fools, then THAT'S what we need to go after! Then, maybe, they'll start to respect our rights once they know to do otherwise will cost them BIG-TIME(maybe even result in their complete shut-down).

Either the government represents EVERYONE or it will be replaced.
