Maoist rebels in Nepal have killed five policemen, just days after the army launched its latest offensive against the rebels.
Two of the officers were killed in a bomb explosion in Dang district in western Nepal.
Officials say at least eight rebels were killed in several separate incidents.
The latest army offensive began after 160 people - mostly police and soldiers - were killed in rebel attacks in the district of Achham.
