Feb. 19th is the Day of Remembrance, to recall the internment of Japanese Americans in America's concentration camps. Today, 60 years ago, EO 9066 was signed by FDR, which began the process by which all JA's were rounded up from the west coast and send to inland camps for the duration of WW2.
In the days after Sept. 11th, the value of remembering was demonstrated in the way that Afghan and Islamic person were not only not rounded up, but even politicians on the right were ready to defend them. It's value is again demonstrated by our demands for fairness for those "suspects" detained, nameless and lost in the system.
Record, remember, and celebrate. Write your own history and you write your own future.
