Every former and current employee of disney that I have ever had the misfortune to deal with was a douchebag. As an artist struggling in the LA area for years, I want to thank the person or persons that have done this.
I read a story that a bunch of Disney animators once did a version of snow white and the seven dwarves where they all took a turn at having sex with her and surprised Walt with it at his birthday party. This was a for our"Disney"eyes only. That is only the people in attendance who were all affiliated with the odeous corporation would see this. Walt's response? He clapped his hands and said youre all fired and they never worked again. Can anyone confirm if this story is true or just an urban legend?
One of my art teachers told me that Disneyland refused admittance to black people in its early days. Is this true?
What is true undeniably is that the Walt Disney corporation has been a blight on the arts world in Los Angeles in particular by its censorship and its draconian and sleazy intellectual property tactics. As an artist trying to make a living in this town, I can think of fewer organizations that can be held in lower contempt than these bastards.
I try and find more info on them but all I find on the net are these dense babtists trying to boycott disney because they allow a gay day at their parks. There has got to be better info on them than that! Can anyone out there provide any good links regarding crimes and other unethical behavior from them?
Also, when I was a student at Art Center College of Design, I asked a simple question to one of their pompous recruiters about if Disney would ever consider doing more mature theme animations or just increase their range to more than just kids stuff using the animation industry in Japan as an example. He just gave me something that I percieved as a halfway answer and then made a point to tell me later that I would never work in this town again.
All of their classical characters are boring insipid and the only thing good about them is the undeniable talent behind them: The animators, artists and other talent that were forced to create under inhuman work for hire agreements that are forgotten under Walt's shadow.
Snow White, Bambi, Peter Pan, Pinnochio, Beauty and the Beast, Aladin, are all are the works of previous creators but Disney tries to act like they are the original force behind these ideas. Furthermore, that magnificent Night on Witch Mountain scene where the spirits of the dead rise and fly through the air as well as other effects in Fantasia were orinally presented to the public by the truely magnificent talent of Canada's greatest animator Mclaren
