Bring War on Terrorism to California!

by Fellow Freeway Protester Thursday, Dec. 06, 2001 at 3:57 AM

Terrorism is nothing new in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. For nearly three years there have been a number of documented incidents of racially motivated state sponsored terror.

Terrorism is nothing new in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. For nearly three years there have been a number of documented incidents of racially motivated state sponsored terror. The first incident was in Riverside on December 28, 1999, as family members watched in horror nearby, at aprox. 2:00 a.m. on that day, four Riverside cops fired no fewer than 34 shots at a 19 year old black female, Tyisha Miller, sitting alone in her Aunt's car in what turned out to be an epileptic seizure, pumping 12 bullets, all from behind, through her back and the back of her head. Whether or not the young lady had a gun on her lap,(the cops kept changing their story, so what should we believe as far as that is concerned?), four white cops firing this many times from behind, then reloading and firing again, then celebrating and "high fiving" following the shooting spree and all the while uttering racial epithets directed at her and her family, all this adds up to only one way to describe this act-TERRORISM!

These four cops were finally fired for this terrorist act, but not one has been prosecuted, much less hunted down and shot like Osama bin Ladin will be. One, Paul Bugar, is now known to be harbored by the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Dept. This not-so-illustrious institution is now known to harbor another suspected terrorist, a deputy that cold-bloodedly murdered another young lady of color in her own home in Highland, California last March-Gennine Stover. This terrorist is also at large and still being harbored by the Sheriff's Dept.

Which brings us now to Sultana High School in Hesperia, California, where the "police dept." is actually comprised of San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies, as this city contracts with this outfit for its police services. On October 23, 2001, several students of color were pepper-sprayed by some of these deputies and by on campus police. While this fortunately did not result in any deaths, it still traumatized and terrorized the victims, and it appeared to be racially motivated as no white students, the apparent perpetrators of the incident the deputies and cops became involved in, were attacked.

Similar incidents, some especially disturbing as they appeared to specifically target young women/girls of color, have occured in the City of San Bernardino involving its police dept.(independent of the sheriff), and additional attacks resulting in the murder of people of color have occured in Moreno Valley, and more incidents in Riverside.

Instead of expanding the "War on Terrorism" to Iraq or other countries, maybe it should be expanded to California to root out terrorists being harbored by government agencies here!
