Japanese protesting the bombing of Afghanistan by the United States marched to the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo Monday. Condeming U.S. and British strikes in Afghanistan, the demonstrators also had harsh words for Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi, who not only supports the U.S. military strikes, but also seeks to alter Japan's officially pacifist Constitution. Koizumi wants the Japanese military to be able to conduct operations outside of Japan, something which the present Constitution sticktly forebids.

Forty U.S. and British warplanes and an armada of warships and submarines attacked Afghanistan Sunday with Tomahawk cruise missiles, 500-pound gravity bombs and computer-guided bombs.
