At approximately 11:40 AM, Supervisor Leon Mann instructed private security officer Harris not to allow any parking in the Westwood Federal building lot. When IMC asked what the reason was, Harris said, "Apparently they've started bombing Afghanistan."

At 12:46- Jim Lafferty of the National Lawyers Guild left consultation with FBI agents at the Federal Building in Westwood. With protests confusingly called for 12:00, 1:00 and 5:00 pm, they were working out permit and protest issues. The federal agents informed him that due to an executive order, all Federal Property would be closed today to both protesters and picnickers. Though not unprecedented, the executive order was characterized by Lafferty as "extremely rare." According to the consultations with federal agents, protests SHOULD BE ALLOWED ON THE SIDEWALK around the Federal Building as this is LA County Property. In response, those present have moved to the sidewalk to make their voices known.
