Feds Warn Peace Activsts...

by John Johnson Sunday, Sep. 23, 2001 at 6:34 AM

This note of warning was posted to the actionla mail list. Read it if you're going to Saturday's demo.

The FBI and the police have called people organizing the demonstration tomorrow. and the following measures were

dictated by them that we must observe at tomorrow's rally at the Westwood

Federal Building:

1) There will not be parking around the W.F.B. f

2) The police will not allow any burning of the U.S. Flag

3) A person caught burning the flag will be arrested and

prosecuted under

the new antiterrorist regulations.

4) Signs and banners can be displayed without sticks.

5) People or organizations cannot display any table, however,

literature

can be hand handed.

The police, they said that we will get a violent feedback from the

public. So, we still can send our messages intelligently in order to get

public support. Messages must call for peace, and probably later on through

teachings we can educate more the public.

Be careful, not afraid...

Freedom of speech and assembly is our most precious liberty. Use it, or lose it.

Let police decide how to demo??

by Peacenik Sunday, Sep. 23, 2001 at 5:54 PM

If we let the police dictate how to demonstrate, distribute literature, etc., we might as well not show up and give up now.

no violence, much support

by anonymous Monday, Sep. 24, 2001 at 1:59 AM

Not only was the event not violent, the cars never stopped honking when they saw the sign reading "Honk For Peace".

Thanks for a positive afternoon, to the signwavers and the traffic makers. Next time, join the party!
