I think it is very significant that both 'Average American' and 'Proud American', otherwise anonymous, cling so securely to these particular made-up monikers. Considering the proximity of their postings and the similarity in tone, we can rest assured that they belong to the same person - a minority viewpoint seeking desperately to pass itself off as 'typical'.

As there is no attempt at discourse it may not even warrant notice except as an example of that peculiar self-righteous arrogance that appears to justify the worldwide resentment against all Americans, an unfair assessment since of course there is no such thing as a 'typical' American.

Actually the need to propagandize like this represents something quite sad when you think about it. This person may be so isolated in their beliefs that they seek to manufacture a false sense of community in that ridiculous claim to represent all Americans. Sad in that if real discourse could be facilitated perhaps this individual would come to see the fallacy of their rhetoric.
