We are the youth together resisting against governmental/corporate bullying. We are speaking out about the injustices and brutalization we face with police attacks and scare tactics used to weaken the youth's voice. The youth are the future we demand a better world. We will not be silenced.
This August fourteenth will be the first anniversary of the Monday attack of the youth at the Democratic National Convention. Last year, following an exhilarating performance by Rage Against the machine and an abruptly interrupted show by Ozomatli, the police ambushed the young protesters firing rubber bullets and spraying pepper spray. The crowds took to the streets in a triumphant defiance! August 14, 2001 will be a chance for the youth to reunite against all injustices and have their voices heard once more. We plan to have the first Annual Youth March and Rally to celebrate the courageous resistors, and commemorate the blatant attack on the youth.
We unite on such topics as:
fighting to stop police brutality, repression, and the criminalization of our generation, proclaiming we want education not incarceration, fighting for immigrant rights by protesting sweatshops and Migra brutality, and fighting for freedom of Mumia Abu-Jamal, and ALL other political prisoners, and more.
The march will serve as a unique chance for the youth to be heard in an enviroment where they will not be censored and all forms of struggle will be respected.
Come and bring awareness to the battles the effect the youth today and tomorrow.
The power is yours.
