San Diego, it is time to rise up as a comunidad!!! Please come out and

support our 650 companeros and companeras that are workers at the Hotel Del

Coronado this Friday June 29th at 12pm! On Saturday please join us at 11am

at the Sherman Heights Community Center at 2258 Island Ave to rally with the

comunidad to battle against the gentrification of Sherman Heights, Barrio

Logan and Golden Hill. Our gente are once again under direct attack from the

rich. They are trying to kick us out of our own barrio because of that

damned ballpark that will turn our barrios into a huge mall for the rich!

Most of the hotel workers are Raza and the hotel is even threatening to

deport them if they keep fighting for better wages, worker seniority, health

benefits and fair work expectations. A lot of them have also been unjustly

fired, demoted, threatened, bribed and intimidated. Some of the women

housekeepers are expected to clean 14 hotel rooms (the rooms at this rich

ass hotel are huuuuge) a day when it takes them about an hour to do each

one. The workers have already two one-day strikes and the Del Coronado still

isn't treating their workers with respect! That is why the workers are sick

of that shit and they are now ready for another rally. Please come out and

support June 29th at 12pm in the public area in front of the Hotel at 1500

Orange Ave!

In Sherman, Logan and Golden Hill, many people have already been asked to

leave including the owner of the restaurant El Comal. Unless we do something

about this, our barrio will be bulldozed (like they tried to do before we

fought for Chicano Park) and our rich history in those barrios will be
