The BIO 2001 industry conference representatives do not want to debate the scientists that will be here for Biojustice 2001! What are they afraid of? They know the opposition is STRONG and that the facts are VALID. They've said at this point a debate with us is a "waste of time". Obviously, they' rather deal with government officials and lobbysist to get their work done and not talk to the concerned citizens of San Diego who want a face to face debate. It's time to MOBILIZE.
At Tuesday's general membership meeting, the Green Party of San Diego consensed to endorse the Biojustice 2001 efforts to educate and mobilize the public for the teach-in in June 22 and 23. It was also agreed to organize a contingency that would take part in the main permitted march on Sunday, Jun 24 from Balboa Park to the Convention Ctr.

Please respond and let us know if you can make it this weekend. We'd like to have a big group. We'll work on transportation if needed. So far, from the phone banking in the last few days, it looks like we could have a group of about 30 greens at the march. Let's get ready! Oh, and if any greens want to make banners and signs, you are welcome to go to the convergence center. Bring some materials, use some of theirs and help in making a strong visual presence.
