Police to Host Second Hollywood Peace March
Los Angeles police will host the second annual Peace March through the streets of Hollywood on Saturday.
The 2.5-mile march, hosted by Hollywood's LAPD division, local businesses and nonprofit agencies, is billed as a chance for the community to take a stand against violence.
"The march helps create an awareness in our community that we are taking a stand against violence," said Capt. Mike Downing, head of the Hollywood Division.
The march, which curls through Hollywood neighborhoods, begins at 9 a.m. at the Hollywood Palladium, 6215 Sunset Blvd. Free food and entertainment will be provided.
This is a great opportunity for the homeless of
Hollywood to get some free food.
Wow they can march whenever wherever they want but when common joe 6 pack wants to have somethin to say, then beat his ugly ass!!
This is just so that they win brownie points before the lakers win the finals so they can beat more women and children.
Somebody should pull out a couple protest signs (or guns) and give them a taste of reality.
I dont think it is safe for people to post up when police try to demon str8. Too much risk for them.
as for the lakers, When they win, police will have a plan @ hurting women & children so I say we anarchists have one as well.
Anyone see the race riot footage from england recently?
no?
well molly top cocktails were the weapon of choice for the protesters. Many english piggies burned like bacon. It was HILARIOUS!!!!!
When I mentioned it to a fucked up pig, he laughed and said, "They don't have bullets in england."
there gonna shoot us for having a party.
thats intelligent.
Los Angeles Uber Alles. The discourse of violence has apparently
been opened up again by the authorities (like in the 1970s and
the early 1990s). The police state is truely in effect. The population is
repressed and pessimistic. Witness voter apathy at the recent election
and the racist impunity with which the victorious candidate beat his
challenger). The large majority of the imagined community, who are
entertained by the sporting spectacle, are being engaged by corporate
institutions to shape their resilience and zealousness. The arrogance
with which the authorities are both assuming a riot and attempting to
intimidate the populace is insulting.
...Any provocation is ultimately their reposibility.
