I photographed this 'Veteran for Peace' sitting on the curb, trying to shade himself from the hot Sun. There were quite a few Veterans of America's Wars involved in the protest... but despite Bush's proclaimed love of Veterans...

these Vets were ignored by the President AND the News Media. Memorial Day had been celebrated just a few days prior to the demonstration... and everywhere in America the noble Vets were celebrated as Heros. But the Man in my photo.... what Politician was there to shake his hand and listen to his story? What Journalist interviewed him and proclaimed him a true Son of Liberty?
