Saturday, April 21. U.S. Mexico Border FTAA Protest. This young Chicano
stood with a group of friends who were all wearing bandanas and masks.
Affinity groups formed all over Larsen Field where the rally started, in
preparation for a march to the border. There were large numbers of Chicano
and Mexicano people involved in the march and rally, with many Mexicano
Activists on the Mexican side of the border holding their own anti-FTAA
protests. My photo of the young man shows him wearing a Blue Triangle. This
icon was the Nazi identification for someone who was considered "stateless"
or an "undesirable refugee." Such people were forced by the Nazis to wear
the patch in the same way that Jews had to wear the Yellow Star.
