Voting for President is like changing seats on the Titanic.
Not voting is like not even bothering to come out of your stateroom.
It is compulsory to vote in Australia. This means that the candidates have to propose policies to represent evreyone, or they won't get enough votes. This doesn't always work but the poor tend to get a better deal here than over in the US. Voting will never (and maybe should never) be compulsory in your country but the more people who vote, the more the politicians have to take you seriously.
