is it legal for the imc to try to prevent their own volunteers (protestors, minors, artisits, citizens, etc.) from exercising their right to speak to anyone they choose or license their individually and jointly copyrighted material to any media outlet a volunteer chooses to associate with? did any of the 'coordinators' think of having nlg or aclu or midnight special take a look at this before imc published plans to curtail their volunteers civil rights?
The IMC is a voluntary association that makes it decisions by a kind of consensus process. That means that unlike the state, it cannot force its members to abide by its resolutions, and so Can Not violate their rights as you suggest.
It also means - all the worse for the union busters, gag-rulers and anti-diversity management at KPFK - that the members of the IMC thmselves decided not to cooperate with KPFK.
Hard to see how a voluntary, democratically arrived- at
decision violates the rights of those who made it. When everybody decideds to do something together, does it then violate ones rights to follow ones own decision? No, of course not.
Oh, well, what starws can the KPFK mgt clutch at now?
