Your comments end with 'peace', yet begin with 'fuck with the cops'. The IMC does not support violence against anyone. We support NON-VIOLENT PROTESTS. Please take your hate elsewhere, or better yet, join us in peace!
we understand that raw language troubles some people, the point is that working for peace and justice "fucks" with cops and institutions. if you've ever been homeless, and harrassed by cops, FUCK only approaches words that can express the level of invasion, violence and humiliation they bring to homeless people all across this country.
if you're a homeless parent, getting FUCKED with includes the threat of Child Protective Services taking your kids.
if you're a single homeless person, getting FUCKED with under 'quality of life' enforcement describes a revolving door between homelessness, jail and community service.
if you're one of the estimated 1/3 of America's homeless population who suffer mental illness, getting FUCKED with is being denied voluntary treatment until your behavior lands you in jail, where you are at even more risk than on the street.
if one takes the trouble to actually TALK to homeless and poor people, one will find that they don't mince words. the objectionable word is common, yet it admittedly describes a violent process.
now ask yourself: who made it that way?
I agree about giving peace a chance. Sure the cops suck, many have experienced it, some to a frightening degree. But, that's exactly the distraction wasting our efforts, to target your anger at cops means you're not focusing on the real deal. The people behind the cops, the cops are but a shield. This post provides quite a thoughtful view on keeping a targeted state of mind, check it out.
