It should be mentioned that thursday night was one of the most beatiful moments of the week. The crazy march from Staples to Twin Towers Jail, through the most pedestrian hostile streets that could possibly be imagined, conceived by cars but turned into a civic, most urban space by the patriots -i guess patriots of hope and love and fun- with our music, chants, dance, drums, shouting, laughing... was the true image of what i would like the world to be.
i remember we all singing Pete Tosh "get up, stand up, stand up for your rights", and the "mujer de maíz" rapping softly but without end "we want justice"... brown, black, white... an army of all the marginals of the world, singing "our streets, our world, our lives..."
no cops, and no sold out media, and no bosses of these serfs -the true bad guys of the movie- can't erase those moments of joy and brother-sisterhood, liberty, life.
hasta la victoria siempre! ayer fue otro día más de victoria! viva el presente!
