Open letter to Ted or Tom Hayes Revisited

by Loki Saturday, Aug. 19, 2000 at 7:19 PM

One anarchist feels that Ted Hayes has taken it upon himself to slam anarchists in front of the corporate media as well as do everything possible to disrupt and cause dissent within anarchist ranks. Hayes seems to find it necessary to videotape fellow activists presumably to turn them into the police.

This is NOT a communique from the Black Bloc--just from one anarchist within the Bloc.

I was flabbergasted to see you, Ted Hayes, go out of your way to denounce anarchists on media networks on Tuesday. You even went as far to say the ACLU is wrong to file lawsuits over the police riot and instead you praised the

LAPD. You refuse to recognize the power structure may pat you on the head for a Judas-job well done but they will never accept you as their own.

You are entitled to your ill feelings towards anarchists. However, to media-whore oneself out like you did is disgusting, revolting, and unacceptable. Private dialogue within the movement is the only way to get the

point across. The least you could do is use the forum I'm using now.

On Thursday night, after you were finished with making the talk show circuit in town, I saw you approach the Black Bloc for a discussion...with the media

surrounding you. I didn't hear what you had to say at his point because the media was pushing in for your photo-op. If you wanted everyone involved with the Black Bloc to hear your message of salvation you could've waited for a

better time.

As we marched to the jail you stayed with the Black Bloc the whole time. You had people with you that videotaped incessantly and rumor spread that you

might turn anarchists over to the cops. That is difficult to believe because overall the larger movement has been very supportive of the Black Bloc--which

many anarchists I have talked to, including myself, have appreciated. If this is true, however, it feels like a stab to the heart because you are willing

to feed us to the sharks.

At the jail I could overhear you pushing for everyone to leave the jail, not hold vigil. You said that "you don't want to be in there." Man, my brothers

and sisters locked in there mean more than my reputation and comfort. Stop worrying so much about yourself and stand up for your comrades.

What are you up to, Hayes? Which side are you going to be on? Make your decision and when you do, get back to me.

And, if you think that I've completely mistaken your intentions and actions, then let's have a dialogue.

ted hayes is a sellout

Ted Hayes also said on t.v. that the anarchists throwing rocks at police on Monday were really throwing rocks at the homeless because they were taking the attention away from his cause. Anarchists have always fought for the homeless and other oppressed people for that matter. The thing that's great about anarchists is that we're not a one issue group. We care and fight for a lot of different issues unlike Ted Hayes who only cares about the homeless.

He's just pissed because nobody came to his convention. As far as i'm concerned he's an ass kissing sellout. Ted Hayes is a reformist who is only interested in curing the illness and not the disease. He only wants handouts from the government so he can build more of his prototype homeless domes. Being a homeless advocate, he should know that capitalism is the root of the problem and that cops carry out the orders of the ruling class.

I guess if you have a dialogue with him, tell him to shut his mouth in the media about anarchists, and that LA anarchists will stay far away from his flag waving demos!

Doubt there will be dialogue

by Loki Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000 at 4:00 AM

I doubt there will be dialogue because he's a coward. He only confronts--doesn't understand the meaning of democracy.

Cheers to my comrade,thanks!

TED and the LAPD

by Maverick Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000 at 3:18 PM

Ted had to go to the hospital on monday night because he got blasted during the KKKop riot. So let me get this righ; The LAPD shoots Ted. Then he turns around and blames us? What kind of fuzzy logic is this? Call it how it is man, a total police state. The bloc is not your enemy Ted, Oppesion and the system that fosters it is. WAKE UP.

Ted Hayes can't be trusted

by anonymous Monday, Aug. 21, 2000 at 8:01 AM

I just wanted to let everyone know that Ted Hayes had come to one of the LA IMC meetings before with his henchmen followers and openly admitted that they "will be videotaping" during the protests to "make it available to whoever wants it" (after we confronted him about him having said that he will be turning over tapes to the police) so that they "know who to blame if anything happens" to them. Oh, and of course, as usual he denounced everyone for being anti-government and america-haters saying that he believes in the "american dream." Hopefully this is enough of an indication for all of you to see just a glimpse of how much of a nutcase Ted Hayes is.
