Read "Your Money or Your Life" by Joe Dominguez.
Read "Ecology of Commerce" by Paul Hawken.
Read "Manufacturing Consent" by Noam Chomsky.
Understand what's going on. Then focus on your LIFELONG, incremental, daily practice of refining this awareness and your whole life. The way we each live has enormous impact, not just on the environment and on politics, but on everyone around us. When people see positive examples of people working outside "the system", who are engaged and protesting but not angry inside, they begin to question the status quo. In other words:
Tune in. Drop out.
If you haven't read the above books, you won't ever be the same again. Especially Paul Hawken. He has precisely the voice of reason we need to mend the divide between ecology and commerce.
You can thank me later! ;-)
