This photo shows Officers of the California Highway Patrol as they protect the "Original Pantry Cafe" Steakhouse from hordes of Violent Vegetarian Anarchist Barbarians. Actually the Mayor of Los Angeles, Richard Riordan, owns the famous meat eating establishment. The Officers were in reality blocking a sidestreet while a mass march of some 15,000 demonstrators marched by towards the Staples Center Convention site. It was the first day of the Demopublican's proceedings (8/13/2000), and protest organizers had called for a demonstration against "Corporate Greed and for meeting Human Need."
