Bus Riders Union Charges Al Gore with Supporting Policies of Transit Racism

On Tuesday, August 15th, the Bus Riders Union marched from MacArthur Park to the Staples Center to demand that Gore immediately enforce the civil rights Consent Decree between the Bus Riders Union and the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) under his federal powers through the 1964 Civil Rights Act.

On Tuesday, August 15th, the Bus Riders Union marched from MacArthur Park to the Staples Center to demand that Gore immediately:

1) Enforce Title VI of 1964 Civil Rights Act

2) Order a moratorium on MTA rail spending

3) Force MTA to fulfill federal civil rights Consent Decree & Spend Billion on 1,000 new clean fuel buses

(500 to reduce overcrowding & 500 for county-wide new service)
