MicroRadio.net to help smash corporate media blackout

In anticipation of the upcoming post-democratic Emergency Community Broadcasts for "e2000", MicroRadio.net is preparing to carry LIVE feeds from Philly R2K & LA D2K protest actions surrounding the National Corporate Conventions, from Studio X in cyber-space ( http://microradio.net/studiox ). MicroRadio.net is inviting micro and community broadcasters to join them as this network of streaming content providers and broadcasters lays the groundwork for a realtime independent communications network.

Following the astonishing successes of cooperative human reaction and ugly corporate desire exposed at the Seattle WTO Round and DC A-16 festivities, MicroRadio.net is gearing up to host a growing National Community MicroPirate Radio Network.

"Corporations think they rule the airwaves, the internet, and our elections. We say 'fuck them!' and we're doing our part to confront corporate media's efforts to blackout the peoples' voices outside the national ‘corporate’ conventions," explains Ben Livingston, a "deprogrammer" from Studio X, a MicroRadio.net content provider.

In conjunction with technology partners like SPEAKEASY.net and BlackBallRadio.com, independent media sources like la.indymedia.org and phillyimc.org, and micro pirate radio broadcasters like FSR! 87.9 FM in Seattle and FRSC 89.3 FM in Santa Cruz; MicroRadio.net is sending out news and music for the post-corporate revolution. If you know any broadcasters in your area, have them tune into the revolution @ www.MicroRadio.net and rebroadcast it in your community.

You are X-pressly invited to participate!

All folks with online capability are invited to participate in a low key, fun opportunity to do a dry run and work out some of the format and streaming kinks and other headaches that are bound to pop up as we move into the future.

Please join us in order to begin test-flushing the emergent post-national MicroPirate Broadband intenet Radio Network (M-BiRN), and to practice content sharing, swapping, and serving: ALL IN REALTIME!

On July 29th Starting at 3pm PACIFIC TIME {this is also: 6pm EASTERN TIME, 22:00 GMT, and 41.2 GLOBAL XTIME} and extending for five hours until 8pm PACIFIC TIME {AKA: 11pm EASTERN TIME, 03:00 GMT, 62.5 GLOBAL XTIME. For global Xtime, goto http://speakeasy.org/~wrld/gst/}.

Featured content for "This Is Not a Drill": the band "CXQ5" performing LIVE from onboard the Historic 1934 Streamlined Ferry, the MV Kalakala, moored in Lake Union, Seattle, AND everyone who can figure out how to plug into the stream!

Studio X ( http://microradio.net/studiox ) will provide a realtime demo stream serving for the duration of "This Is Not a Drill".

If you have FM transmitter and a modem, please download and broadcast. If you have the ability to send audio content for insertion into this Xmission, you are so invited! Point your stream slurper to http://blackballradio.com/rnc/htm for more specifics.

If you are affiliated with an organization seeking broadband access for future participation in events like this, please contact MicroRadio.net at networking@microradio.net.

Good luck!

For the record, Free Radio Santa Cruz originally began on 89.3 FM in 1995. Shortly after, 12 complaints were filed with the FCC by "public" station KUSP 88.9 FM, and FRSC moved to 96.3 FM were have have squatted happily for the last 5 1/2 years. By the way, we are gonna try and carry some live reports, as well as, UnConventional Coverage from the National Radio Project. We are streaming our signal 24 hours a day online at www.microradio.net/frsc
