The art show is about the workers of California and their struggles from over the years... strikes, marches, etc., but also just shows everyday life and dreams of the working people. GREAT SHOW, with lots of paintings, prints and photos and posters. Hundreds of people came to the opening and the show will be up until August. theres a website with more info, http://www.art-for-a-change.com/exhibits/atwork.htm
I so wanted to go to this opening. However, having just arrived in the area, and no longer possessing a vehicle, I am at the mercy of the public transport system, which does not run late enough. As an artist who paints in this tradition, I would have loved to see this work. I WILL try to get down to see the exhibit, however, I really wish i could have been there for the opening.

don't worry... the exhibit is up until August 14, so there is time to see it. plus... there will be public events like a lecture and slide show about activist art (July 15 - Sat) and film showings to. check out the website mentioned in the top post for all the listings.
