LA is hosting BikeSummer 2005 June 3rd to July 4th. Benefit/party/show tonight, Saturday the 18th at The Smell 247 S. Main St. in dwontown LA.

Los Angeles BikeSummer Kicks Off With Fundraising Event

Los Angeles-BikeSummer is coming to Los Angeles in 2005! In its seventh year, BikeSummer is a bicycle extravaganza that is hosted by a different city each year. From June 3rd to July 4th, 2005 there will be dozens of bicycle events in the Los Angeles area for all levels of cyclists and non-cyclists.

This Saturday December 18th pre-events will commence with a fundraiser social at 9pm at The Smell, located at 247 S. Main St. Entertainment provided by Please Don't Throw Rocks At Us! (South bay’s finest synth punk), Silver Daggers (jazzy post punk), Ruin the Ending (melodic hardcore), and DJ Rock Action. Door prizes provided by I. Martin Imports and information by LA County Bicycle Coalition, Bike Out, The Bicycle Kitchen and Aids Life Cycle. Activities will include a bicycle scavenger hunt and raffle prizes. Bicyclists and non-cyclists are encouraged to attend to learn more about BikeSummer.

Indoor bicycle parking is available, which is always a better choice than parking a car in downtown. Entrance is found in the rear alley. Cost is $5 and food will be available. For more information email labikesummer2005@riseup.net or check www.bikesummer.org.
