* Protest Trump's Appointment of David Friedman, his bankruptcy lawyer and vociferous pro-settler advocate. as US Ambassador to Israel.

Statement from Al-Awda: Palestinian Right of Return Coalition: "We condemn in strongest terms Trump’s stated plans to move the US Embassy from Tel Aviv, to Occupied Jerusalem and call on all people of conscience to rally against this dangerous move.

"No other country in the world has recognized the Israeli Occupation of Jerusalem, and just a few weeks ago the United Nations demanded “Israel” halt settlement activity. As such, Trump’s stated plans are a gross violation of international laws, precedent and norms, and fall squarely against the international tide calling for the cessation of the Israeli colonization of Palestine.

"Since 1948, ”Israel” has engaged in population transfer of Palestinians by way of kidnapping, murder, illegal settler colonies, and home demolitions. Since October 2015, in furtherance of its unabated colonizing mission, it has sharply escalated its violence against Palestinians in Jerusalem in the hope of cementing its ethnic cleansing of the ancient city and its native Palestinian population.

"The relocation of the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem is intended to give further license to Zionist violence against Palestinians and legitimize “Israel's” attempts to annex, and thereby ethnically cleanse, Jerusalem.

"Accordingly, we call on all people of conscience to join us in demanding an end to Israeli occupation, and end to Zionist colonization, and to join us in signing this petition and/or join us for a day of action to stand against Trump’s move to relocate the US Embassy to Jerusalem.
