Recently, the Supreme Court has issued two decisions that are incredibly harmful to church/state separation in this country. In Greece v. Galloway, the court held that it is constitutional for city councils to open their meetings with prayer, even when the prayers are sectarian. In Hobby Lobby v. Sebelius, the court held that some businesses can deny their employees birth control coverage (otherwise provided at no charge under the Affordable Care Act) if the owners object to providing such coverage for religious reasons.
After these decisions were issued, Barry Lynn and Ayesha Khan held a live streaming event in which they explained the decisions and answered important questions about their scope and what we can do in response to them. In case you missed the live streaming, we?ve obtained a video of the event. Join us to learn more about these recent decisions. We expect a lively discussion after the video?s showing!
