THEN at 3 PM-Take part in preparations for the signature drive to get a minimum wage on the ballot in L.A.
Help plan and execute a 4-month signature drive to put a minimum wage law on the ballot.
We don\'t believe there is any support for the idea that workers should live in poverty except among the billionaires who proft from their exploitation. Yet 10 million workers in the U.S. do live in poverty. And Los Angeles is the low wage capital of the country. It would take 3 incomes at the current minimum wage to afford the average two bedroom apt in Los Angeles. If we could force the bosses to pay a living wage it would lift the living standards of 46% of the workforce in Los Angeles.
Let\'s spread the word, recruit volunteers and let Los Angeles vote on whether they want workers to live in poverty in their city!
