Pershing Square, 532 S Olive St, Los Angeles, CA 90013, (Corner of 5th & Hill), Downtown LA National days of protest against today's U.S. proposal to increase U.S. military action in Iraq. For more information: answerla@answerla.org or 323-394-3611 President Obama said today, Friday, June 13, 2014, that he's deciding "in the coming days" to increase American military action in Iraq! We in the anti-war movement remember the illegal & murderous wars of occupation in Iraq & Afghanistan and the lives & suffering they cost! We're saying loudly now, BEFORE the President increases covert or overt U.S. military force in Iraq: "NO NEW WAR IN IRAQ!" Join us in the streets across the country June 20-21, to send this message loudly and clearly to Washington! ------------ More details below... Actions at the White House in D.C., in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Albuquerque, Sacramento and many more cities on June 20 and 21! Today, it has become increasingly likely that the U.S. government will once again take military action in Iraq. It is urgent that anti-war forces mobilize to tell the Obama administration that the people of this country completely oppose any new war on Iraq. The ANSWER Coalition is gearing up for such efforts, and is calling for nationwide demonstrations on Friday, June 20 and Saturday, June 21, as well as emergency actions the day U.S. bombing starts, in the event that it happens before these dates. George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld should be arrested and prosecuted for their criminal acts in Iraq. It was the U.S. invasion and occupation of Iraq that destroyed the country and brought about the current crisis. There is nothing the Pentagon can do with more air strikes and destruction to undo that, or bring about peace now. We in the anti-war movement fought too long and too hard to prevent and end that illegal and unjust war.
