Donald Sterling, owner of the Clippers, got into it with his Afro-Latina girlfriend and laid down the law: don\'t show yourself online hanging out with famous Black people, because he doesn\'t want to encourage Black people coming to the games.
What kind of backwards garbage is that?
It\'s racist garbage, and there\'s no room in Los Angeles or America for that. Come out to protest right after work.
He makes money off the labor of Black people.
This wrinkly grampa seems to be okay having affairs with much younger Black women.
But he doesn\'t want Black people attending Clippers games?
The Clippers are going to be in town, going up against the Golden State Warriors. So the media will be out in force.
More background info:
He\'s been accused of discriminating against Black and Brown people who applied to live in his buildings.
He\'s been quoted saying he likes the Koreans in Koreatown because they don\'t care if he keeps the apartments run-down.
Elgin Baylor quoted Sterling as saying: \'Personally, I would like to have a white Southern coach coaching poor black players.\'
His birth name is Tokowitz but changed it to Sterling to sound less ethnic.
Breakdown:
This is a man who understands racism, and as a Jewish person, suffered it himself, but instead of resisting it, accommodated himself to it. He now accepts some forms of racism, repeats and reinforces racism, and has become a racist himself.
This is a call for all people to come out and take a stand against racism. Not only the racism of white against black, but of the replication of racism, of accommodation to racism, and against the American assimilation project that cuts deals with minorities and ethnic whites to get acceptance by the white supremacist system. The deal is that individual minorities get a reprieve from suffering if they participate in perpetuating racism against working class and middle class people of color. The deal for working class whites is, if they forget their ethnic roots, and become \"white\" they will be allowed dominance over minorities.
