Marissa Alexander is an African American mother from Jacksonville, Florida who is serving a 20-year sentence for firing a warning shot to stop an attack by her abusive husband. No was hurt by her action. Poets and hip hop artists will be performing to raise money for Marissa's case and her children. Sunday, October 13, 2:00 to 5:00p.m., Blu Elefant Cafe, 2024 W.
