¡NO A LA PRIVATIZACIÓN!

Foro Informativo: La Reforma Energetica y PEMEX

Sábado 28 de septiembre

7:00PM

135 E. 3rd Street

No to privatization!

Public Forum: PEMEX and the reform of the energy industry

Saturday September 28th

7:00pm

135 E. 3rd Street

Los Angeles, CA 90013

(Downtown, on 3rd between Main and Los Angeles)

After Enrique Peña Nieto took office, his plans to \\\\\\\\"reform\\\\\\\\" Section 27 and 28 of the Mexican Constitution have generated a crisis within the Mexican Society. Such changes will not only allow the privatization of the oil industry, they will also allow for multinational corporations to control the natural gas, petrochemical and electrical industries, as well as transportation, and the distribution of energy. If these changes take place, they will deprive the nation from its ability to develop, these industries will then be owned by transnational corporations that are only concerned with their profits and depriving countries of their natural resources. The impact will be devastating for all sectors of society that depend from these industries.

But, does it have to be this way? Can it be avoid or reverted? During the last weeks, all sectors of society that are directly threatened by these reforms have renovated their capacity to mobilize. Massive demonstrations have interrupted and paralyzed daily life activities, and have underscore the people\\\\\\\\'s will to reject these corporate plans.

You are invited to an informational public forum on the real intentions of these reforms. Come find out what the Mexican people\\\\\\\\'s movement is doing to prevent these plans, and how you can get involved to prevent that the lives of millions of people ends at the hands of multinational corporations.
