In the decades that people's struggles against colonialism and imperialism have sharpened the imperialist powers have increased their repression. The number of torture survivors has grown to more than 500,000. In the "post 9-11" period powerful figures in the U.S. imperialist establishment have tried to legitimize torture. The powerful documentary "Beneath the Blindfold" focuses on survivors' personal stories, insights and struggles. Join us at the Harriet Tubman Center and talk with filmmakers Kathy Berger and Ines Sommer following the screening of the film. Torture survivor Maria Guardado will also be there to share her thoughts. Don't miss this important event.
