This upcoming week, Amnesty International's Local Group 92 and YPAI (Young Professionals Amnesty International) will be hosting "Guantanamo on Trial," a free screening of "The Response" followed by a panel of incredible speakers. The award-winning film is based on actual transcripts from the Guantanamo military tribunals and features Kate Mulgrew, Peter Riegert, The Daily Show's Aasif Mandvi, and Sig Libowitz. The discussion will be led by Tony Camarino, author of "How to Break a Terrorist" and a former senior military interrogator for the Air Force as well as Carrie Neff Maley, an Amnesty Field Organizer and campaigner for the security of human rights. The event will be held on Friday June 21st from 7:30pm to 9:30pm at St. Simon Church in San Fernando [623 N. Hagar St.] Through this event, we hope to emphasize the Amnesty International's overarching goals, which are to respond to Obama's speech on security, end indefinite detention, stop unlawful killings with drones and ensure accountability.
