But our schools and other institutions seem largely unable to provide them with the skills and understanding they need to survive, to thrive, and to make a difference. The cycle of violence and
injustice that entraps them will not stop until boys are raised to become powerful and loving participants in the struggle to end it.
Paul Kivel is a social justice educator,
activist, and writer, has been an
innovative leader in violence
prevention for more than 35 years. He
is an accomplished trainer and
speaker on men's issues, racism and
diversity, challenges of youth, teen
dating and family violence, raising
boys to manhood, and the impact of
class and power on daily life.
