On June 28th, 2009, democracy in Honduras was severely undermined by a military coup that overthrew elected President Manuel Zelaya. The hopes and dreams of building a just society were gone with this violent act, and the aftermaths of the coup are still being felt. What remains in the country, almost four years later, are the daily and systematic acts of intimidation, political assassinations, illegal detentions of activists, the murders of transgender activists and campesinos in Bajo Aguan. Join us for an eyewitness report from members of a recent delegation of observers from the U.S. who traveled to this region in order to verify the ongoing violations of human rights being committed by armed thugs at the service of the billionaire capitalist, Miguel Facuss?.

El 28 de junio de 2009, la democracia en Honduras sufri? un duro rev?s a causa del golpe de estado militar que desaloj? de la presidencia al Presidente Manuel Zelaya. Los sue?os y aspiraciones de construir una sociedad justa se esfumaron con este violento acto y sus consecuencias a?n se hacen sentir en la sociedad. A casi cuatro a?os del golpe, lo que s? permanece en el pa?s son las diarias intimidaciones sistem?ticas, asesinatos por motivos pol?ticos, las detenciones il?citas de activistas, los asesinatos de activistas transg?neros y los asesinatos de campesinos en el Bajo Aguan. Acomp??anos para un informe de un testigo ocular que acaba de regresar de esta regi?n. Ella es parte de una delegaci?n que viaj? recientemente a Honduras desde USA para comprobar y observar las violaciones de los derechos humanos que se cometen diariamente a manos de los asesinos a sueldo de Miguel Facuss?.
